Dear Disillusioned Pregnant vanda

Dear Vanda,

Your first pregnancy was a dream come true. Your husband finally treated you the way you always wanted to be treated. You were precious, cared for, and pampered. You felt like a queen and were showered with love and attention. You were so excited to bring new life into the world and felt like you were on top of the world.

Now, you're carrying your second child and you expected the same royal treatment. Unfortunately, the opposite is true. Your husband doesn't even seem to notice that you're pregnant and you're constantly fighting.

Sweetheart, please know - it's not you. He's going through some major reevaluation and is nose-deep in a manure pit. You will continue to fight and go through hell, but I promise you that you will come out the other side stronger, and doubt not, he indeed is the dreamboat you believed him to be.

So, my sage advice from the future is to give yourself the love and care that you expect from him. Love upon yourself because, for the next 4 years, you’ll go to hell. But you’ll keep going.
Now don’t let him slack off, but do take time to enjoy the moments when the clouds clear. Bask in the warm rays of love you share while the skies are clear. There are storms ahead.

You’ll weather them, and find yourself, humbled, and will come out the other side stronger and more in love than ever before.

Sending you love, strength and resolve.

Yours faithfully,

V.
